The club aims to promote the following:
Anybody over the age of 16 can apply to be a member of FMTC. With low entry-point membership costs and subsidised clothing, the FMTC aims to make becoming a member as financially painless as possible whilst still providing suitable coaching and support.
We aim to provide training sessions for athletes of a wide range of ability, from beginner triathletes to international standard.
We employ a professional triathlon swim coach who delivers monthly assessed sessions, along with the provision of weekly training plans for our members-only Sunday swim sessions at The Activity Zone in Malmesbury.
Cycle activities include weekely night rides during the summer and often Sunday rides following swimming. Other cycling activities include Velodrome trips and Suffershire outings.
Running is usually managed by each individual athlete however many club members belong to local running clubs including Cirencester AC; and other members participate in local Park Runs.
If you require specialist coaching for any particualr component our members will be able to recommend coaches suitable for your needs.
We promote the club at triathlon events including the annual Club event the Cotswold Triathlon, usually held in September each year. We have branded clothing and sportswear available for members to purchase. Our annual end of season shindig is a celebration of all members achievements throughout the year and all members are encouraged to attend.
We have a club welfare officer and a number of our members are also DBS-checked. Swim sessions are held under lifeguard supervision. FMTC is affiliated as an official club of Triathlon England; this provides public liability insurance for official Club activities and events plus access to potential development funding, coaching support and Welfare liason.
FMTC is an equitable club, and we do not discriminate against race, colour, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.
We aim to provide members with as many opportunities for personal improvement as possible; be that through coaching, support or subsidised participation.
